Top 7 impressive products on the first day of CES 2024 Consumer Electronics Exhibition

Consumer Electronics Exhibition (CES) 2024 has officially begun, below are a series of impressive products on the first day of the event.

Transparent TV

The first keyword mentioned is “transparent”, with two see-through TVs from Samsung and LG. Samsung’s MicroLED device has a more futuristic feel than a household TV that could soon appear in households.

At this event, Samsung showcased its transparent screens at the experience booth, allowing customers to customize the screen by adjusting modules according to personal preferences.

Meanwhile, fellow countryman LG introduced the OLED T TV displaying images on a transparent base, creating an aquarium-like effect while still retaining the contrast that made LG’s OLED panel famous.

Automatic washing and drying robot vacuum cleaner

The highlights are the Q Revo MaxV and Q Revo Pro robot vacuum cleaner lines, designed by Roborock, with cleaning performance similar to top devices, but at a more affordable price.

The new devices have an easy-to-operate FlexiArm design in angular areas of the home, while being integrated with a powerful 7000Pa suction motor.

Along with that is the multifunctional Dock 2.0, which can automatically pour, fill, wash and dry. One notable point of the Q Revo line is that the device uses hot water to mop and wash the floor.

Smart mirror

The Bmind smart mirror from Baracoda combines AI technology and natural language processing (NLP) algorithms to analyze the emotions of anyone looking into the mirror through expressions, gestures and tones.

The “magic mirror” will then adjust according to the viewer’s mood, providing light therapy solutions, meditation guidance with the aim of improving the user’s mood and controlling stress.

In a live demo at CES, the mirror remarked that the ZDNET reporter was “having a bad day” and used encouraging words, along with switching the lights to a soothing blue color with images of nature.

Smart lock recognizes palm prints

Similar to the palm recognition technology in Amazon One stores, Phillips is the first company to bring this technology to smart locks for consumers.

The touchless technology will scan the unique vein patterns in a person’s palm by simply holding their palm a few inches from the lock’s scanner. Users can add up to 50 different Palm ID options.

The smart lock uses Wi-Fi to connect, meaning users don’t need to buy a central hub. It is also compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

HP Spectre laptop supports AI

HP calls its AI assistant Superpower and it can be customized to learn information about the user in order to create text containing more personal context than text created by other AI chatbots like ChatGPT.

Touted as “the laptop with the deepest integrated AI,” the Spectre x360 promises to automatically optimize performance, reduce fan and temperature noise based on open applications, laptop location, and device battery status.

Sennheiser’s heart rate monitoring headphones

Sennheiser unveiled three new in-ear headphones at CES 2024, the most impressive of which is the Sennheiser Momentum Sport.

This device is optimized for sports enthusiasts with a prominent feature: heart rate and body temperature sensors. Both sensors can integrate with free and paid fitness and sports tracking apps like Apple Watch, Health app, Strava, etc.

New AI features on Samsung SmartThings app

Samsung announced updates and new features for the SmartThings app during the keynote on the first day. The biggest feature is the map view mode, the 3D layout of the house, supporting users to easily access smart devices.

The app allows customers to create 3D maps by uploading floor plans or simply sketching floor plans on the app to create layouts.

In addition, SmartThings Together can allow pre-approved family members or guests to safely control specific selected smart home devices and create their own habits.

Compatible Samsung TVs will also be able to function as a SmartThings Hub and nearby Samsung smartphones will be detected immediately and used as a remote control for the “center”.
