Google said it has teamed up with Samsung to bring users the best data sharing solution between devices running on the Android operating system. Accordingly, Android users will be able to share content peer-to-peer across all devices in the same ecosystem, from smartphones to Chromebooks.
The search giant has even partnered with PC manufacturers running Windows to integrate Quick Share as a pre-installed app.
Along with that, Google announces an update to the Fast Pair feature, optimizing Android’s operation with Bluetooth headphones. At the same time, it expands the list of Fast Pair support, such as Chromecast with Google TV and devices launched this year.
Right now, Android users can already stream TikTok content from their phone to Chromecast-enabled devices. In addition, many other devices are also planned to integrate this streaming feature, such as the 2024 LG TV line and even LG Hospitality Healthcare, allowing streaming to TVs without having to log in to the app.
Google also allows users to transfer content playing on Spotify and YouTube Music from Pixel phones to docked Pixel Tablets.
Also at the event, Google emphasized its commitment to the Matter protocol (the new standard for smart-home connectivity), LG TVs, the Android TV operating system as the hub for Google Home.
For Android Auto, Google announced it will soon be available on the Ford Mustang Mach-E and F-150 Lightning. In addition, electric vehicles compatible with Android Auto will be equipped with a feature to share real-time battery information with Google Maps, to enhance the driving experience by providing estimated battery levels upon arrival at destinations. These new features will also help users estimate the amount of time needed to charge the car.
Many leading automotive brands will also better integrate apps like Google Assistant and Google Play directly into the cockpit display. This new addition will be rolled out to brands like Nissan, Lincoln and several other car companies.
